You know how it goes around the holidays: Turkey, stuffing, gravy, cookies, cake, the egg nog you know, all the good stuff. But sometimes that good stuff gets to be a bit much and what you really need is a big bowl of Mexican food! It was just before Christmas, that both Shannon and Charles were feeling that call. Who knew that this would be where their love story began? “We spent hours at Chipotle talking about everything from music to hobbies to how the brain works. Charles’ curiosity was endearing.”
But Charles had one more female to woo: Sydney. Sydney was Shannon’s constant companion well before she and Charles met. “I think she was a little annoyed at first having to share my attention with Charles, but he grew on her (excessive amounts of treats helped), and she has welcomed him.” Well you know what they say about dogs and their instinct about people’s character. No better test.
Two Proposals?
I’ll explain I promise. While taking a mini-trip to Vermont over the summer, these two hiked the gorgeous buttermilk falls together, enjoyed some ice cream in over sized chairs, and took photos together. By the time they made it back to the hotel, the sun was just starting to set.
“Charles asked me if I wanted to check out the gardens of the hotel that they were told about earlier. The garden was beautiful!” Charles asked Shannon to sit on a garden bench surrounded by flowers and it was there that Charles proposed to Shannon.
“Charles failed to get down on one knee, so I told him he had to propose again.” Of course he did and was rewarded with a resounding YES! And of course, they were so involved in their sweet moment with scan tags and overall happiness, they didn’t even notice that the sun had completely set and they were in complete darkness. So they returned to the site the next day and enjoyed a glass of champagne in the library at Castle Hill. So MUCH Cute in one story! Those imperfections are what make a love story so real and wonderful!
So what’s next for the lovebirds?
These two are in the middle of a big move to their own place. “Charles had previously moved into my apartment with me, so it felt more like “mine”. So what we love is that this new apartment will feel more like ‘ours’.” And more than likely these upcoming days will continue to include sleeping in under the warm blankets, with their sweet little doggie Sydney, enjoying breakfast together, and of course more Mexican food!
