A small note from Amanda: I don’t know if you have noticed or not, but I LOVE a good story. Disney stories have my heart and fairy tales are the essence of my being. So every now and then I feel the urge to start writing again; to cultivate a beautiful world with engaging characters and a lively scenery. And it works out so beautifully when I have a styled shoot, because how many times can you say “The florals were out of this world, and the couple was the sweetest” before it starts to feel inauthentic and tired? Inspiration shoots really are the perfect opportunity for me to spin a tale of romance and intrigue, while also showcasing some of my best work. So please enjoy “The Library’s Secret”
All is still.
Two large doors swing open and a hash falls over the library. The air is still. Nothing breathes but the souls held between the pages of these books. Rows and rows stacked on top of each other rising all the way to the ceiling. The dimly lit row just a few paces away beckons. The pull is an unearthly. Suddenly a loud crash echoes through the stillness. There, at the end of the hall lies a blue leather book upturned with pages bent. An unexpected breeze wafts through, rifling the pages breathing life into them.
A bride draped in gorgeous white silk stands where the book once was, looking around in awe. Her golden hair is twisted up in wildflowers and vines. Drifting out into the center of the library she stares up at all the beauty surrounding her. Her words echo through the halls of library as she says “Tell me a story.”
The Magic of the Library
The books fly off the shelves around her, pages fluttering in a mad rush. And all of a sudden what was once a quiet library is transformed. Right before her eyes a table is set and laden with flowers, plates, glasses, and golden leaves. A canopy of vines arches over the table, and in one swift elegant movement, pulls out a chair for her.
Reunited
She takes a step forward but stops when the sounds of pages turning comes to a halt. Stopping she turns to see why. She gasps. Before her eyes flowers and vines crawl up and over each other suspended in space coming together at the top to create a beautiful art stripping with vines and roses. Gently pushing aside the vines he emerges. Brushing his hair from his eyes he gives her a grin. She smiles back ever so widely and runs toward him. Two lovers reunited stand beneath the greenery dancing and swaying to the music rising up from the ground. Letting the music surround them. A rustling behind them draws her attention to two girls glad in rose and gold. They smile at her sweetly and take her hand. A silent tear falls down her face and she embraces them.
The Vow
Turning to face her groom, she smiles as he wipes away her tears. Taking him by the hand she faces him and can barely control the rapid beating of her heart as he vows to love her for all eternity. She promises the very same to him. They seal this moment with a kiss and it is a kiss so deep and meaningful, the vines twist and curl above them, loosing petals around them like rain.
Forever
“I wish this would never end” She says quietly. He kisses her forehead and whispers back. “All magic must end my darling. But love. True love. That will last forever.”
