It definitely took some time
These two took their sweet time to notice each other. Since they both went to such a small college, they ended up crossing each others paths quite a bit.
“Maggie worked at the cafeteria.”
“And Trae ate food… often.” My kind of people. It wouldn’t be until later that a mutual friend officially introduced them to each other. And of all days it was Trae’s birthday. “Needless to say Trae was having fun celebrating his birthday, acting a little wild and he decided to try and make some moves.” Well he must have done something right because he ended the night with her phone number in hand. It just gets cuter you guys!
“This next part is Trae’s favorite part of the story to tell.”
After such an amazing night Trae couldn’t wait to talk to that stunning girl he met. He wrote out a long text to her essentially asking her out on a proper date. But get this, Maggie didn’t respond! “He likes to say that text was the length of one of the last Harry Potter book… “ I can only imagine the heart and soul that went into that text…or a lot of mumbo jumbo. Or both!
Why didn’t she respond?
Because she was going to see him later on in the cafeteria! Remember Trae likes to eat? So little faith…Dragging this out even more, the two still didn’t decide to start dating until much later. “The next week or two was a little awkward, and eventually we saw each other out at the college bar again and both being a little more coherent than the last outing we hung out and that was the start of our relationship.” Finally! They do say slow and steady wins the race but that was a loooong race!
Off to Grandmother’s house we go
Maggie thought she was just going to have dinner at Trae’s Grandmother’s house, so she thought nothing of it, when he requested she dress up a little. But when they pulled up and it wasn’t his grandmothers house, Maggie was in for the surprise of a lifetime. “Instead, outside my parents home I had lights and flowers surrounded by friends, family, and music. Before she knew what was happening I was on a knee.”
So what’s next?
These two love to spend their weekends catching up on their favorite shows and exploring their great city of Cleveland. And then when Sunday rolls around, they like to relax a little more with a well rested morning sleeping in, making breakfast together and then reflecting on the week ahead. And then whenever they find a chance, they’ll be sure to curl up on the couch together with their favorite Harry Potter book. Sounds absolutely perfect in every way!
