2017 Goals
We all have our goals stashed somewhere in our head, but those goals mean nothing until we write them down. Make ourselves accountable and then maybe, just maybe those goals become a reality. It seems weird to do this in Feb right? This is supposed to be a January thing isn’t it! Honestly it took me some time to get over the whole “Christmas is over” phase. Not only that but I really wanted to take my time with this. Compiling a list of goals is like making a promise to yourself and who wants to end up breaking a promise with themselves? Not this girl! So I took my time and really thought about where I wanted to be with Amanda MacPhee Studios and what I wanted to have accomplished by 2018 and this is what I came up with…
My Top 5 Goals for 2017
1. Shoot a Destination Wedding AND Elopement
Disney, Austria, Colorado, South Carolina, California, you name it, I’ll be there!
2. Gain over 1,000 real Instagram followers
This one is a bit of a doozy, but you can’t aim low in these situations and I have some new tricks up my sleeves
3. Host 2 Styled Shoots
I already have one underway so I’m halfway through this one!
4. Shoot a wedding in one of these three places:
-An abundant garden
-An old library
-A castle
What do I dream of? All of the locations! It sets my creativity on fire! These are the ones that I get the most excited about!
5. Work closely with a super talented planner
How awesome would it be if I found a designer who “matched” me. It would certainly be double the fun that’s for certain
6. Attend 1 workshop and meet one of my mentors
Um Katelyn James anyone?
7. Have weekly blog content to share
Hard hard hard, but I’m committed to you guys and want to give you the best experience with me that I can give you
8. Have a list of preferred vendors and venues that I trust, that match my business and that I trust to refer brides to
As I said, “matching” is the goal.
9. Spend less on advertising and more on education
Now this I could use some pointers on…there are so many great educational programs out there. Abby Grace, Amy Demos, Katelyn James, etc.
I personally find this kind of stuff a ton more valuable than advertising. Espeically when you aren’t seeing results from a certain kind. Live and Learn I suppose
10. Stop worrying
We are all guilty of this one. We aren’t cut out to worry. It breaks us down and makes us practically useless! Now who wants to be useless? Not me. So who cares if that one client isn’t following through, or it might rain on my styled shoot? Worrying is going to do nothing but deplete me of my energy and we can’t have that. I need that energy to make pretty pictures.
Let me know what you think of my 2017 goals and share yours with me! I would love to hear them! Suggestions are also welcome for future post topic ideas.
