What is a Friend Adventure?
Adventures fuel our souls, expand our creativity (and our thoughts) they refresh our minds. They show us the world outside our personal bubble and allow us to be free.
Now take that adventure and add a good friend to it. It just got 10x better didn’t it? You can explore together, catch up on each others lives, eat great food, and get some awesome shots of each other!
Ok that last one only applies to me and my friends, but I’m sure you would pull out your iphone for a quick dozen or so selfies too!
For this Friend Adventure, I finally was able to get a date going with my bestie Anya. We have been friends since high school and have tried to stay in touch but as we are all well aware, life gets in the way and schedules just don’t match up. So imagine my delight when we both had a free day! I immediately suggested a picnic at Brookside Gardens! I had shot an incredible engagement session there earlier and really wanted to explore the gardens more ever since. All I had to do was describe this place and she was all in.
She had even learned a good bit from our previous adventures that she was able to take some crazy-awesome headshots for me too! See all the pretty we found below! ( And some of the weird things we do to get the shot )
I kid you not,
this happened to Both of us every single time she did that “hair flip”
You guys!
I think this was my FAVORITE spot out of them all! Just look at that Light!
You can’t see it
but there were some elderly gentlemen photobombing us all over the place. If they weren’t so old, I might have been creeped out with how often they showed up in our photos. If anything I’m annoyed at all the Photoshop work I had to do to get them out.
So remember when I mentioned those head shots?
We had a blast trying to find “my angle” and by that I mean a proper angle where there wasn’t a glare on my glasses and like a true MacPhee I was super stubborn about it. I’m just not me without my glasses anymore. I can’t get past it, but in the spirit of being fair I’ll let you see them.
Fun Fact: Back in high school, I fancied myself a photographer (crazy right?) and Anya was my go to model. We would go out practically EVERY day after school and shoot. She would have a new outfit planned and I would have new creative shot ideas. Maybe one day I’ll share those lovely pics I took on my LG chocolate. (Remember those?)
That face you make
when she says “Take off the glasses.” I don’t know. I think I look weird…
And they are back!
I loved this fountain so much…
…until it turned on me!
If you have a friend nearby this weekend I challenge you all to go on an adventure! Whether it be a full fledged outing like us or just getting ice cream, it’s important to make time for those friend adventures. I’ll be checking in on you guys next week so you better have some good stories! I’ll be sharing all about my weekend in Deep Creek and my friend adventures then too!
Want to collaborate on a future adventure? I’m all for it!
