STUNNING SHENANDOAH WOODS ENGAGEMENT SESSION | JESSICA & TROY | VIRGINIA WEDDING PHOTOGRAPHER

Swiping Right

Jessica and Troy met on Tinder of all places! “I never thought I’d go for a military guy, but that uniform definitely had me swiping right!” And Troy was just happy to finally see someone who was outdoorsy and athletic. And Jessica was new to the area and much more focused on her horses than getting the lay of the land, so when she found a cute coffee shop and suggested they meet there, it wasn’t until they arrived, that she realized it was more of a sandwich shop where coffee wasn’t readily available. “They had to brew a pot of coffee especially for the two of us.”

A Mountaintop Proposal

Since Troy was leaving for deployment soon, he knew he had to propose before he left. “We fell in love so fast even when we were faced with so many obstacles, such as him being in Marine training.” So he decided to set up his old hiking camera and take Jessica for a hike up their favorite mountain with the pups in tow. Only problem? the hunting camera was pretty old and only worked on a timer! ” I kept telling Jessica to hurry up and come over here and then got down on one knee. It was pretty funny”

No Better Pair

Our favorite days are probably two polar opposites. We either love waking up early and heading out to the mountains for a hike or we love to sleep in and cuddle up watching Parks & Rec on the couch while Troy eats Mac & cheese with hot dogs while Jessica eats what Troy likes to call “rabbit food”!

“We’ve been through all of the ups and downs and I’m just so grateful to have found a partner and soulmate like him.”

The One

Sometimes there is a defining moment, other times its a slow build, but eventually every couple can say how they knew the other was “the one.” That one person they can envision a forever future with.

Troy: When I met her, she was more energetic and outgoing then any person I’ve ever dated and I knew that she would make me a better person. It was love at first sight for me. Honestly, it was just a gut feeling.

Jessica: Troy was the first person who I could truly be myself with. I’ve never had to fake or cover up any part of myself – I can be goofy, dancing on the couch with a bottle of champagne, while also being serious and talking about my fears and goals for the future. In him, I found my other half, a partner that I never knew I wanted or needed.

A Spring Wedding in the Mountains of Virginia

Jessica and Troy will be getting married next year at the Stoneyman Valley Ranch in May 2021 and the AMS Associate Team cannot wait to capture it all!
