Just for them
Sunlight poured into the reception hall glistening off the bride dress as bride and groom twirl beneath the lights and embrace for their first dance as husband and wife. Megan smiles up so big and so brightly at her new husband. Matt holds his new bride tight with a smile just as big. She leans her head on his shoulder and the two float around with eyes for no one but each other, reveling in this private moment that was created just for them.
Family is so very important and when you can have a wonderful family like Megan and Matt had, combining the two is nothing short of wonderful. Everyone had a special part to play and it truly was beautiful to watch. There were the ladies working behind the scenes making sure the bride and groom were never distracted from their wedded bliss for one moment. You had the siblings that brought life and laughter to the day. You had the sweet grandmothers offering sage advice and a welcome hug. And everything this wonderful family did was out of love for Megan and Matt. What more could you ask for?
You Know You Make Me Wanna Shout!
About halfway into the reception, people are milling around, talking and enjoying the sweet summertime air, congratulating the bride and groom and enjoying a slice of cake. All is quiet and relaxed. It seems like this is going to be one of the most laid back receptions ever. Some people (like myself) just don’t dance. They prefer meaningful conversation and good company to share it with in a quiet and relaxing atmosphere. That was how the evening began. But that was not how it ended. The DJ starts to play another song and it was like a mass exodus! Everyone was on the floor in minutes and what was once quiet and reserved is now alive and joyful! The bride and groom spin around on the floor in a flurry of movement, bridesmaids and groomsmen are busting out some serious moves (like dancing with the stars moves) mom and dad even joined in on the bustle of activity. Skirts are flying, hands are waving and the night of quiet, has been taken over by the biggest sneak attack of joy and passion I have seen yet. Nothing beats a surprise like that and watching these two let go and just feel all the joy was nothing short of wonderful.
Megan & Matt,
What a wonderful way to spend a Sunday! You two are so lucky not just to have each other (because duh you’re so darn perfect together) but to have this wonderful new family who just love you to pieces. I’m so happy I was able to be there to witness such strong family ties on such a momentous day. I wish you both a lifetime of joy smiles, and of course dancing.
