From Grace: Kevin has always been a comfortable person for me. His love is gentle and kind always. We have been together through good times and bad but no matter what I never doubted that we would be there for each other, even if it meant talking on FaceTime every night during a pandemic! There’s nothing that I wouldn’t do with him and he’s the only person I know I can always be myself around. The life that we have built together is peaceful and filled with joy even if its just a ride in the car, a walk with our dog, or a trip to the grocery store.

From Kevin: From our first conversation on FaceTime, there has always been a certain easiness with talking to Grace. I have never felt super nervous or awkward while talking to her, but simultaneously, I have always felt extremely lucky that she wants to share her time with me. When it really hit me though was a few weeks into us talking. I was telling her a story about something that happened at Church one night and she was laughing uncontrollably. I couldn’t believe that she found this story as funny as I did. I love how much enthusiasm Grace shows and the effort she puts into anything and everything she does. This effort and enthusiasm shows through in the love she gives as well and that makes me feel so incredibly special.

After enduring the long and seemingly never ending pandemic, Grace and I couldn’t wait any longer to finally meet each other. I picked up Grace from her brother’s house on May 22, 2021 which was the first place that we ever saw each other in person. We then went to Annapolis, MD where we shared our first date. We began at Boatyard Bar and Grill and then walked to Downtown Annapolis where we went to a few stores including a bookstore. We walked around the harbor area in the unseasonably hot weather, took plenty of pictures together and shared our first kiss by the boats. In many ways, it was the perfect first date for us because it wasn’t a one off experience, but rather a preview of all the things we would do and enjoy with each other in the years to come.
Although we don’t frequent Annapolis, it will always hold a special place in our hearts. This is why we chose it as the perfect place for our engagement photos.
