casual elegance personified

at st. Sophia's Greek Orthodox Church Followed by a Backyard reception

Steph and Lee were made for these two settings! Each unique in their own way, one a glowing traditional church and another a laid back elegant and fun tented reception. Two very different atmospheres, but once Steph and Lee entered the scene, everything fit together so perfectly! From the light shining

through those church windows

in an almost ethereal glow, to the elegant and fun tented reception in their own backyard. This was actually only their first few months in their new home, so the backyard wedding was a perfect fit! We even did their engagement session around the grounds! It's neat to see how it transforms!

No wedding is ever exactly the same. Each one has it's own unique details that best encapsulate the story of the bride and groom. Some are even God given!

I could go on and on about the atmosphere that surrounded this couple during the ceremony! How the light shone through the windows at all the right times, How every little movement seemed angelic, how the domes sweeping all the way to the heavens made the entire event awe inspiring! I could go on about all that indeed!

In Awe and Wonder

"Going from ethereal and awe, casual, fun and relaxing..."

Steph and Lee opened up their home for this celebration, showing yet again how much they wanted to show their loved ones they appreciate them and the roles they played in their love story. Small vases of flowers dot the long tables, offering ample seating. Personalized name cards with hand drawn details to add that special touch, candles shimmering against the glassware in the dipping sunlight, all of that and more just added to this warm reception

The Reception

"DJs are great and all, but live bands hold a special place in my heart"

Up on the stage, the Blue Label Band plays gently in the background during dinner and cocktail hour, and then the night took off. The performance value of the Blue Label Band was just off the charts! You felt like you were having your own private concert under the stars! And let's not forget the songs the bride and groom chose. Every single one was either a dance floor hit or it was song that was special to them and therefore special to everyone else! Because as we all know, if the guests of honor are loving something, the guests love it too. (sometimes more!)

The Musical Atmosphere Made the Night!

Stephanie and Lee were all elegance and poise all the way leading up to their ceremony. There were some nerves too, which was actually kinda cute, in my opinion. BUT once we got them back to their house and they started dancing on that checkered dance floor, something fell away and they came to life! Joy was emanating from them at every turn. Their smiles were bigger, their hugs tight and long. It was such a joy to be around and witness all that joy! They truly reveled in every little detail!
